Chinese state media agency Xinhua just announced the latest information on Chinese outbound investment. And the data is incredible.
In Q4 of 2014, China saw between $250-270 billion dollars capital outflow. The average capital outflow between 2009-2013 was from $US600 to $US700 billion dollars a year.
And it’s expected to increase. Where is this capital going? 1. Chinese students studying abroad. Xinhua estimates that Chinese students are the top recipient. 2. Chinese tourists. 3. Chinese overseas real estate investment. According to Xinhua, Chinese real estate buyers spend on average of $100 billion USD annually in the US buying houses.
